This plant combines a continuous-feed bubble cap column with process control hardware: a microprocessor digital PID controller with serial card, a residual pressure transmitter (0 to 1000 mbar, 4-20 mA), two electro-pneumatic converters and pneumatic valves on the condenser cooling water flow and the residual pressure. An oil vacuum pump and vacuum circuit with trap complete the system, putting separation and control equipment on one pilot rig for chemical engineering students.
